Sign up for School Closing Alerts

There was some confusion yesterday about whether there was class or not.  I tried to contact everyone, either by phone or email.  To avoid this confusion in the future, I have an assignment for you.  Go to http://ksax.com/article/10309/ and register to receive school alerts on your phone and/or email.

Once you are there, go to the “Search by District” heading and select letter A.  Scroll down until you find ALEXANDRIA PUBLIC SCHOOLSand click on that link.  When the list of schools appears, check the box next to JEFFERSON SENIOR HIGH. Then enter your email address or cell phone number and choose SUBMIT.  You will now receive school closing emails and text messages when Alexandria schools ore late or closed.

Please post a reply when you have done this.

Thank You and have a pleasant week.

Winter is here

The first big winter storm is coming this weekend. Douglas County is under a Blizzard Warning for Sunday. The forecast is for 9″-12″ of snow and winds of 20-30 miles per hour. www.weather.com/weather/alerts/localalerts/56343 Windchill could reach -45 tonight. www.nws.noaa.gov/om/windchill/index.shtml

If School District 206 (Alexandria) is closed on Monday, then there will be no class on Monday.

If this is your first winter storm in Minnesota, how do feel about it?

There are many different winter activities, such as skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, and ice skating. Are there any winter activities that you like?

Have a safe weekend and stay inside tomorrow where it’s warm.

We had 5 new learner join us last week.  Let’s make them all feel welcome.

Sunday, December 7th is the 67th anniversary of the Japaneese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawai’i.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xi62g6lOccA

Are there any imortant events in your home country in December, other than Christmas?

What things would you like to do in class next year? Do you have any ideas for writing topics?
I am starting to plan for January and would like to have your ideas to help me plan.
