what is wrong with the French?

What is wrong with the French?
Recent day the Beijing Olympic torch relay was unsuccessful done because of some people who are against China prevent the torch relay.
What makes me surprise is that this event happened both in France and England!
Baron de Coubertin, the father of modern Olympic Games, is the French. I think the French will know more Olympic spirit than Chinese! What is the spirit of Olympics?
That is to unit the world to make the whole world a family by encouraging people all over the world to join in the Olympic big family! No matter what race, nation and religion belief people are!
So how can the French do this stupid thing to destroy the Olympic spirit and humiliate the father of Modern Olympic Games!
So I wonder what is wrong with the French.

Thinking of sports from doping

When speaking of doping in sports field, many people hold the idea: doping is immoral, unethical and unfair. Anyone who is found out that he or she has taken the performance-enhancing drug will be strongly criticized. However, is this real the athlete’s fault? I would like to say a few words.
I heard a sentence a coach, he said, the athletic sports are sports that badly ruin the health of athletes. The ideal of sports is to keep our health but the athletic sports do ruin the health of athletes by intensive and high pressure trainings! Athletes can be very hurt easily. And the pressure from coaches and the desire of winning force they to take drugs. Nowadays athletic sports are just about wining not the heath. So In order to win the reputation, they will choose the easy and soft way—that is taking drug!
So, should we blame athletes or blame these who twist the essence of sports?

should women join man’s team?

Should women be able to join men’s team? This is real a huge debate! Some think it is the human right of women to join men’s team. It is sexism to exclude women in men’s team. Women should get the equal chance to try out in men’s team.

Some hold the opposite opinion that women should not join men’s team.
First, the difference of the constitution between man and woman is huge. Generally speaking man is physically stronger than woman. Woman will be easily hurt when compete with man.
Second, it is unfair for man. Because no matter men win or lose, people will say, “come on how can you beat a woman? Or come on she just is a woman, how can you be beaten by a woman? ” Both saying will be a shame to man.

In my personal opinion, woman should just play in woman’s team. It’s not fair for both man and woman if woman join man’s team!

tour de france

The Tour de France started in 1903, and is the world’s largest cycling tournament/race. It is a 23-day, 21-stage road race that is usually run over more than 3,000 km (1,864 mi). The route traces a circuit around most areas of France, and often passes through one or more neighbouring countries. The race is broken into stages from one town to another, each of which is an individual race. The time taken to complete each stage is added to a cumulative total for each rider, to decide the outright winner at the end of the Tour.
Together with the Giro d’Italia (Tour of Italy) and Vuelta a España (Tour of Spain), the Tour de France is one of the three major stage races and the longest of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) calendar. While the other two European Grand Tours are well known in Europe, they are relatively unknown outside the continent, and even the UCI World Cycling Championship is familiar only to cycling enthusiasts. The Tour de France, in contrast, has long been a household sporting name around the globe, even to those not generally interested in cycling.

Golf in China

Many consider golf (or gowf as it was originally spelled in Scotland) the most significant of all Scottish inventions (though some would argue for single malt whiskey!).By the beginning of the 17th century, golf had spread throughout all of Scotland and was enjoyed by not only the nobility but the common folk as well. During this same century, the game was properly organized with accepted rules for all players. In 1744, the Gentlemen Golfers of Leith, later renamed the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, was instituted. The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews was begun in 1754.

As we all know that golf is a nobleman sport because it cost a lot. So in China the popularity of golf is not wide as it in Scotland. However, recent years some colleges of China set the golf course especially in big cities, such as BeiJing and GuangZhou. Our university–BeiJing Sport University has the golf course. However its tuition is very high–about 100,000 RMB per year.

Although it is a high putting-in project, its come-out is pretty good. After graduation you may find a job in golf club to be a couch or something else. Or you can build good network with high-level people by playing golf.

At last I think as the devolping of China, golf must have a bright future in China!

Lacrosse

Lacrosse is a popular sport in Canada, North America, France, England and other parts of Europe. This exciting sport is a combination of soccer, basketball, and hockey and played with a small, hard ball and stick called the crosse. The crosse has a basket-like scoop on one end used to catch and throw the ball.
Lacrosse is primarily an amateur sport played at the high school and college level by both men and women. Intercrosse, the co-ed version of lacrosse, is even part of the physical education curriculum of many U.S. elementary, junior and high schools. lacrosse is a sport that requires stamina, as there is a great deal of running, but does not require its participants to be especially big or strong, as is required by basketball or football.
Each game begins with a center face-off, and as in soccer, only the goalie can touch the ball with his hands. Although lacrosse is considered a contact sport, players can commit technical and personal fouls for unusual roughness and stick checking.
Modern-day lacrosse has been greatly influenced by the record of a game made by a Jesuit Missionary named Jean de Brebeuf. The game was played in 1636 in what is now Ontario, Canada and followed a pattern similar to lacrosse’s current game.

Basketball in China–now!

Basketball invented from the USA in 1891 by JAMES A. NAISMITH. It soon becomes popular all over the world. Because it is easy to learn and it is exciting. We all know that USA is very strong in basketball and it is specially famous for NBA.
Basketball has been in China for decades and become very popular. Especially after Yaoming and Yijian lian were choosen by NBA in houston rockets and Milwaukee Bucks respectfully chinese people become more and more crazy in basketball and NBA than ever before.Because they are pround to see chinese face in NBA’s game which is world famous.
Recent a newly movie–KONGFU DUNK which is acted by Zhoujie lun tells a story how a poor boy becomes famous by playing basketball. It is so exciting to see the amazing performance in the movie which shows us how charming the basketball is!
I think basket basketball now in China is more than a sport but a culture.I send my best wishes to China’s basketball development. Hope one day China will have the second NBA.

Baseball in USA

Actually I  have never played baseball until now. The reason why I am writing base  is that I have been choosen as a volunteer for the MLB which will orgnize a baseball competetion in China this year.

Baseball As America represents the richness of baseball as the American pastime and celebrates enduring American values: freedom, patriotism, opportunity and ingenuity. It appeals to a broad spectrum of the public from children just learning to throw a ball to the life-long fan .and, like the game itself, draws people of all ages and across all cultural heritages. It provides a revealing, inspiring, humorous and dramatic perspective on America’s Game and, in so doing, fosters a new appreciation not only of baseball, but of USA’s national character.

I hope with the MLB’s help and this competetion, baseball will be as popular in China and chinese people can also learn its value–freedom, patriotism, opportunity and ingenuity.

miracle on ice

There are a lot of miracles in human’s history. However in modern Olympic games the most miracle on must be the miracle on ice.The “Miracle on Ice” is the nickname given to a February 22 medal-round men’s ice hockey game during the 1980 Olympic Winter Games in which the USA team beat the USSR team by the score 4 to 3 in semifinal.
Maybe you will wander why this is a miracle. That is because the USSR is a very strong ice hockey team. The USSR, emerging from several major defeats in the mid-1970s, was back on top of the hockey world going into the 1980 Games at Lake Placid. However, on the other side, the USA team is consist of amateurs who are college students. Before this competetion the USA team met the USSR team and are crashed by USSR by the score 3 to 10.
In order to earn some face back in this Winter Olympic Games, the USA team are trained so hard.
For these college students whose skill are not so good, they have to train 8 hours on the ice everyday which almost killed them. However, they survived and what’s more the beat the USSR.
At that time, the USA and USSR are having the cold war, so this ice hockey competetion was really a “cold war” between USA and USSR.
At last, USA beat USSR in front millions of American people. How exciting it should be! Maybe we will never know what it means to the American people unless we were in that unforgetable moment when the miracle happened!
