Qualities of a Team Leader
Recently, I have been busying preparing the oral English final exam — a job interview. I came across a question: what kind of person do you think is suitable for the leadership?
A team leader is a person who is able to unite all the team members and direct their efforts towards the achievement of a common objective. Although a team leader may not necessarily be a genius with special talents and abilities, there are still some qualities that are essential and universal among successful leaders.
Generally a team leader is expected to be responsible for making decisions. He or she should have the ability to be the visionary for the people who are working under them. A team leader is the person who can set the course and direction for subordinates.
In addition, human skills, the knowledge of how to deal with people, are also very important. He should be willing to listen to different points of view and able to communicate his thoughts and opinions to others.
Last but not the least, the highest calling of a true leader is inspiring others to reach the highest of the abilities. A good team leader should be good at helping and encouraging.
Nobody is born to be a leader. But through long-term great efforts, you can improve your ability and skills, which will enable you to be a good team leader.
