Hi Daniel, I’m a Malaysian. I have never been to any countries accept to Mecca , and that was for performing my pilgrimage as it is one of Muslim’s five principles. Let me tell you, I learned English as a third language.
My mother tounge is Tamil which is an Indian dialect, and my second language is Malay language which I acquired without effort for I mingled with my Malay neighbours very well. Learning English was difficult in the beginning but I took it as a challenge and I am still learning . Believe me, learning a foreign language is really fun.

I can realize that Italy is very lazy to learn English. I don’t know why, because I was a teacher of English for 30 years and it was very complicated to give me a response.
I tried to teach my students that English could be very important for their life and their work, but they didn’t care about it. Sometimes I think that we are very proud of our history, art, cooking and a lot of other things we are very famous in the world.
Maybe that could be one reaon.
Why am I writing those things? Because I saw that there is no video about Italy, even if there are some English schools, especially in milan, that are very good. For example, the British Council.
Furthermore, I have to admit that when I went to England for a course of English to improve it, i could realize that only the French and the Italian people could speak English very badly; maybe for our accent; may for our laziness, but I felt myself very embarrassed. I should admit that my pronounciation is quite good, but it is because I was in the UK several times and because I live in the north of Italy.
In the south of Italy, the situations is very different, because the Italian accent is very heavy and so their English is quite bad!!!
I hope you could film some videos in Italy too, but I hope that with your magnificent work you could suggest us how to convince Italian people to learn English!!!!! Bye for now and have a nice work! Alessandra

I forgot that when I was a teacher, I used, especially in my first teaching years, some songs in English. They were very popular, so my students were very interested in learning the lyrics. There was not Internet yet! Maybe it was one of the few positive methods to teache English to young students. Actually, when a student was interested in English or American songs, he/she could lean English better and He/she was more motivated.
