The Institute of Modern Languages is the oldest language school in Andalusia and is the most reputable institution in Granada for ESL. The hard working academic staff provided Emmerson and Carr with groups of students who varied in age as much as they did in level. From pre-intermediate adults to elementary students, everybody had different things to say about the experiences in learning English.

American Academy Casablanca is a private, independent, co-educational day school founded in Casablanca in 2003. The school offers an American-style education to students from pre-school up through an American high school diploma. AAC’s approximately 200 students study mainly in the English language; however AAC takes pride in being a ‘trilingual’ school. In addition to English, students are also taught both of the official languages in Morocco, French and Arabic. The film crew visited the school in mid-October 2008 and found the staff and students to be most inviting.

International House Bucharest

International House Bucharest is similar to IML Granada in that it is a private language school consisting of students who take part in extra curricular activities twice a week. The institution provided us with students and teachers from Bucharest who were most enthusiastic about the project and able to provide the filmmakers with plenty of interesting information about English in Romania.
