Red Sox bullpen Saved Boston take series

bqkmoppy.gifKevin Youkilis and Jacoby Ellsbury drove in two runs apiece, and a shorthanded Boston bullpen provided strong support of starter Daisuke Matsuzaka as the Red Sox took the decisive third game of their series with the rival New York Yankees, 8-5, at Fenway Park.

Youkilis finished 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Manny Ramirez had two hits, two runs and an RBI to help power a Boston offense that generated 11 hits without slugger David Ortiz.

Matsuzaka (3-0) was hardly perfect, allowing four runs on five hits and walking six over five innings, but David Aardsma, Mike Timlin, Javier Lopez and Manny Delcarmen limited the Yankees to one run on three hits over the final four innings.

Ohlendorf and LaTroy Hawkins combined to hold the Sox in check from the fourth through the seventh, but the Yankees bats fell silent as well, thanks to the work of the Boston bullpen that saved our RED SOX NATION.

P.S: I love BRS
