Vampire Students
This post refers to those students who sign up to attend an
interview, you agree about the time and the price, you even
prepare for the first lesson and then suddenly they call to cancel the
whole thing. They give a variety of reasons ranging from a business trip
to having found something cheaper. Today I had to of them.
Next time a person comes for an interview I will charge a fee. I will
deduct it from the first month’s total. I am sick and tired of people
who suck my time and effort.

Hi,
take it easy babe. No way to escape the ups and downs of life. Don’t you see that the idea of paying a fee just to set to an interview needs reconsideration!?
The best of luck

No. It’s a normal practice in many language schools when the placement fee is deducted from the course fee. Others advertise free placement testing. It’s my time and effort involved, so I will charge a fee for my services. Money is an important motivating factor for the majority of Lithuanian students- if it’s free, it’s not serious, no comittment to keep promisses necessary.

Hi,
I like your website and it’s very interesting to follow what you are doing there.
When I give a private Trial Class, I always tell them up front that, it may be a trial class, but it’s not free, and I charge the regular rate. So far I have had one student who was serious about taking a trial class and paying for it, which was not a problem, because I still got paid. She was doing trials with several teachers and picked the one she liked the most.
What I don’t like is someone spending several emails and phone calls trying to set up a class then can’t decide if they want a private class or not. But that’s part of the business of privates I guess. I just keep those kind of emails short and to the point. Which discourages them from trying to practice their English for free, while pretending to be interested in a real private class.
Best of Luck,
I would like to see your new hair-Do that you raved about, hahahaha.
Take care
