The Latest Situation
Hi and thanks for checking out my blog! I’ll do my best to add an entry regularly here in South Korea and hope that I’ll get a response from someone out there!
The name’s Mike Long (from Carrickfergus) and I live here in Daegu. I’ve been in the EFL business for 12 years now and I’d love to hear from anyone out there with thoughts to share on EFL. I used to work for The London School Of English in Kensington, London and then their branch in Daegu. Now I have moved on to enjoy the benefits of a single shift…

Hi Mike. I’m teaching in Beijing, China. I have a few Korean students, they’re all very studious, but very quiet. My current Chinese students are fairly outgoing, by Asian standards, but they don’t work very hard. That’s not the usual case in China, just with my particular students!
I’m looking forward to reading your descriptions of teaching in Korea.
Congratulations on your new blog! But I’m curious about “mulder”, as in “Mulder, are you suggesting..?” I don’t know this word and can’t find it in my dictionary. In fact when I first read it I read it as murder
Anyway, good luck!
Thanks for reading. Mulder refers to Fox Mulder, a character in the TV show, The X-Files. The line Mulder, Are you suggesting… refers to the way his partner, Dana Scully always questions his crazy theories…
Mike
Thank you Mike. Now I understand about Mulder
Hi Mike,
I have yet to start formally teaching EFL but have held my own private lessons here at home in Canada.
I am wondering if you know of any teachers in South Korea, more specifically in Daegu that have come by way of Canada.
If possible please do let me know, and/or pass on my information to them (tambur2@uwindsor.ca). I would love to hear from them and get to know which agencies they contacted in Canada, if any.
Thanks!
Hi Mike, I have a question for you so was wondering if you could send me your email address to mjbish1982@hotmail.com please?
