” I know that I am one with beauty and that my comrades are one. Let our souls be mountains, let our spirits be stars, let our hearts be worlds.” These statments belong to Ansel Adams, an American photographer and envirnmentalist. He was born in 1902 in San Francisco, California. Ansel Adams spent most of his childhood roaming along San Francisco Bay, collecting insects and exploring nearby nature. His father, Charles Adam, an Irish man who had a successful lumber business, bought him a camera. Although interested in playing piano, he determined to take photos of the nature.
First, he was Pictorialism but eventually rejected it and wanted to expand clarity, contrast and precise images. So, his images have high resolution with depth and beauty. He is also best known for his Black and White pictures of Western American. “Moonrise” is one of his masterpieces.
In 1928, He married Virginia Best and had two children, Michael and Anne. So, he attempted to expand his works and to focus on details. He wrote” The John Muir Trail” limited-edition book in 1938 in order to protect the designation of Sequoia and Kings Canyon as National Parks. Finally, Congress designated the area as the National Park in 1940. He also believed that everyone should have access to his photographs. So, he created books, posters, calendars and prints which are still used today.
Heart failure caused by cancer brought his life to an end in 1984, at the age of 82. He was surrounded by his wife, two children and five grandchildren. Ansel Adams is a great man who learned to live a modest and moral life and to have the responsibility to nature and human. “Millions of men have lived to fight, build palaces and boundries, shape destinies and societies; but the compelling force of all times has been the force of originality and creation profoundly affecting the roots of human spirit.”

One day Nasreddin went to town to buy new clothes. First he tried on a pair of trousers. He didn’t like the trousers, so he gave them back to the shopkeeper. Then he tried a robe which had the same price as the trousers. Nasreddin was pleased with the robe, and he left the shop. Before he climbed on his donkey to ride home, the shopkeeper and the shop-assistant ran out.
“You didn’t pay for the robe!” said the shopkeeper.
“But I gave you the trousers in exchange for the robe, didn’t I?” replied Nasreddin.
“Yes, but you didn’t pay for the trousers, either!” said the shopkeeper.
“But I didn’t buy the trousers,” replied Nasreddin. “I am not so stupid as to pay for something which I never bought.”

Pride and prejudice should not overshadow our judgments and decisions. If decisions are overshadowed by such things, we will not have right appreciation of the situations and circumstances. Our life is overshadowed by the images that Mass Media broadcast on TVs, radios and Newspapers. So, we have to be careful when we make judgments and decisions.

Meteorologists forecasted that Canadian people would have a harsh weather on the weekend, which start from Friday night to Sunday, 15 centemeters of snow each day with strong winds.
Every Saturday, my husband and I go to a nearby Flea Market to buy some natural honey from a friendly Polish couples. They do this bussiness not for earning extra money but they had inherited from their grandfathers and grand grand fathers. I never knew that there are six different kinds of honeys including Clover, Linden, Buckwheat, Goldenrod, Borage and Blueberry. Each of these honeys are useful for body organs or cure some deseases. For example, Clover and Linden are good for cold, flu and coughs. Buckwheat heals broken bones as well as used for sclerosis and anti-cancer diets. It also contains a fair amount of Magnesium. Borage helps reduce fevers and is rich in minerals. Finally, Blueberry is good for people who have stomach problems. It is really amazing that a tiny bee produces such rich-nutrient foods.
Moreover, the quality of the honeys are really great. I have not seen such honeys in my whole life. They are extremely different from the honeys sold at Department Stores or grocery stores. They smells like various flowers. I feel fresh and superpowerful when I smell the honeys. The hue of them are exceptional, from bright yellow to dark brown, clear crystal and also very sticky. As a result, one of our hobbys on the weekend is to go there and buy some honey. We did this for almost one and a half year so we are now friends with the couples.
After returning of the Flea Market, We went to our friend’s home for dinner and played “Wizard” game which is a kind of card game. They had discovered this game recently and asked us to play with each other. Playing Wizard was such a fun that we lost time and in the midnight, we suddenly recognized that we had to go home. We said goodbye to them and was ready to leave the house that we saw our car was hidden under the huge amount of snow. WOW! that was terrible! In the freezingly-cold night, my husband finally managed to clean the car. We got in the car and headed to the home. But, driving in this harsh circumestances is really scary. We were lucky to have winter tires. There were some accidents on the way home but after fifteen minutes we arrived. Thank god to come back home safely. It was really dangerous but we had a great weekend.

One of my favourite places in my home country, Iran, is Persepolis. This unique site is so significant for me. It forms my identity. Persepolis represents the wisdom and intelligence of my ancestors so that I can be proud to be a successor of the past glorious civilization. My Iranian pride is not only for the unique designs of the palaces but also for the righteousness and impartiality of my ancestors. I admire what my ancestors were thinking of in the first place and have it as an instruction in my personal life. This exceptional site is not just valuable for Iranians but also is important for International Cultural Heritage. I would like to give an abridged description of Persepolis.
Alexander the Great was described it as the richest city under the sun. Persepolis was the symbol of power, wealth and glory of the vast Persian Empire. Persepolis is surrounded by Rahmat Mountain in one side and vast plains intensify its sheer beauty. Cyrus the Great, the first Achaemenid king, chose the location. Daruis I started the construction in 518 BC and was completed by Xerxes and Artaxerxes within 150 years.
Daruis had four capital cities, Susa, Babylon, Ekbatana and Persepolis which was the ceremonial and summer time capital. This impressive palace was occupied for invocations and great occasions of national importance. Evidences show that there is no sign of daily wear. The invocation by the whole nation, led by Daruis the Great, was started by worshiping the Almighty God, Ahura-Mazda. They prayed for bringing peace, prosperity and order into the chaotic world. Achaemenid Dynasty migrated to this area in order to celebrate Persian New Year, Noruz. The carved picture of a lion and a bull is the symbol of coming Persian New Year. The Lion, the symbol of hot and luck, eats the bull’s neck, the symbol of winter and cold, meaning that the winter has gone and the spring is coming. People from twenty eight various nations represented golden bowls, coins, and woollen textiles as a gift to the emperor. Today, archaeologists have found the same items in Lebanon, Macedonia and other countries in Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia.
When entering to Persepolis, two twin stairways, with 106 steps and 23ft wide, guide visitors to a vast terrace. Two gigantic statues, with the human head and the body of winged horse, are decorated three separate doors. This is The Gate of Xerxes or Gate of All Nations. Representatives must have waited in this area in order to see the king. Persian colourful carpets were covered inside The Gate of All Nations. Black marble columns, with double headed bulls at the end, attached to the ceilings. After The Gate of All Nation, there is Apadana or Audience Hall of Daruis. Apadana was supported by thirty six stone columns, each twenty meters high. In this place, the king received visitors and celebrated Noruz. At the east of Apadana, the largest hall was located. Early archaeologists called it “The Hall of One Hundred Columns”, ten rows by ten. In this Hall, Daruis had meetings with army commanders. To the south of these three buildings, Palace of Daruis and Xerxes and Royal Treasury are located. Many archaic tablets have found in Treasury sight which was written in ancient language. The interpretation of tablets shows the economy of Persepolis and lifestyle of inhabitants.
Persepolis was the first ancient construction not built by slaves. Daruis employed experts and workers and paid them well. To work, they came to Persepolis and at the end of the day, went back to the nearby city. Women would receive equally income for the same work as men did. They even had maternity payment. Daruis the Great strove to standardize legal practices all over the Persian Empire. He respects all people with different cultures, traditions, ideas and religions. He also helped Jewish people and brought them to Persia. Consequently, all people had comfortable life and Persepolis was recognized as the richest city under the sun.
After two hundred years, Alexander the Great was born, decided to attack the symbol of power, prosperity and glory. He came to Persepolis and set a fire. Persepolis had been completely burned down to ashes. Archaeologists are suspicious weather it was accidental or intentional retaliation because Persians had burned Acropolis in Athens many years before that time. Anyway, nothing can lessen the importance of Persepolis. Persians built the palaces in such a harmony that no one can deny it.
If you are interested in watching and reading more about Persepolis, you can watch the video of ” Persepolis recreated”, which has five parts. You can also read an article in the below.

One of the archaic sights in Iran is Persepolis Palace in the southern part of Iran, Shiraz. This archaic palace has intricate structure which archaeologists tried to understand by redesigning on computers.
John should hasten to get married because he is forty years old right now. He did not want to get married hastily when he was young. He thinks that hasty actions put his personal life into trouble so he decided not to make hasty decisions.
The hue of archaic palace is bright brown because it was made of clay. Scientists are not sure if the hue of the palace has changed or not but archaic pictures show that the hue might be dark brown and after thousand years, it turned into bright brown. Palace hue is the same as the soil hue, bright brown.
To learn effectively, illustrations are one of the important factors. Some students learn better when they see illustrations so teachers prefer to illustrate the contents of teaching materials. By this way, students can remember easily and teaching becomes more effectively. Consequently, illustrations are one of the major tools for teaching.
The intricacy of Persepolis palace made it valuable to visit. This intricate archaic palace astonished archaeologists for many years. They are still looking for more detailed information. Achaemenians build it intricately and this intricacy of the palace attracts a lot of tourists from around the world.
High magnitude earthquake ruined the whole city of Rudbar in 1990. Iranians had not had such high magnitude earthquake before. This earthquake was in such high magnitude that the capital city was trembled at midnight.50, 000 people died and people in neighbourhood cities came to the streets by their pyjama and sleepy face. The magnitude of the earthquake was 7.4Mw.
In Cambodia, young children of 14 years old oblige to marry with old men. Human right activists are trying to stop obliging actions against young children. This obligatory marriage makes children to escape from where they live. Human right activists oblige governmental and non-profit organizations to protect the children.
Some people overlook the value of having a good husband, children, friends and etc. They just think of money, power and sexuality. Overlooked values cause them to have everything but happiness. They overlook the value of human being and they look at just appearance, clothes, the amount of money a person have. They overlook other aspects of human being, their heart and their soul. People should regard others because of their thoughts, ideas and humanitarian actions.
The predominant foods of northern people of Iran, along the Caspian sea, is various fish, garlic, caviar, tomato, eggplant, orange, goose and etc. These kinds of rich-nutrient foods bring healthiness, happiness and long-lasting life for them. I think it is a good idea if fish become predominant food in every area.
