Finding Forrester
The movie which I saw one year ago came to my mind this moment.
It is really a meaningful story about friendship and promise. I remembered at the very beginning I was puzzled about the man who stayed behind the window. Then he entered Jamal’s world by accident. He held an Irish accent, not standard English, but it doesn’t show his poorly educated. On the contrary, he was a famous writer and his wisdom was displayed during his talks. Without knowing that, Jamal admired William’s authority and understand William’s feeling, while William appreciated Jamal’s talent. They became good friends in spite of great difference in ages.
Especially when Jamal recognized who William was, he tried his best to protect William from being disturbed, even though he endured the suspection of the school and the pressure of the board. He kept his promise, taking his education as price. At last, William was conquered by this clever, honest boy. He attended the school meeting to clarify Jamal’s innocent. It was the most exciting moment. Their friendship has sublimated at that moment.
At the end, William entered the sea of cars, with his old fashioned bicycle. His heart was set free, as well as my heart.
