Howard wins slam dunk

In the All-Star Weekend, Dwight Howard the power forward from Orlando Magic winns the Slam Dunk. In the competition, he has so much wonderful creativities. And the best one is that he pretends to be the Superman and then completes a talented dunk, that is really a big show.

The highlight of his performance sees him remove hit jersey to unveil a Superman shirt and then add a cape,He then flew through the air and threw the basketball through the hoop.

“Take-off and just try to fly,” Howard told a television audience. “Just take-off as far as I could. I decided to put the cape on and found one on the street.”

Shaquille O’Neal is irreplaceable

Shaquille O’Neal is one of the greatest basketball player in the history and his hulking frame has already shocked the world for ten years at least.

It is not just O’Neal’s powerful scoring presence that ultimately defines his career, but also the fact that no elite N.B.A. player has ever appeared to have so much fun doing it. O’Neal, a four-time champion, is known in league circles as the Godfather . He is the superstar who young players are most likely to seek out for counsel. He is the guy who everyone wants for a teammate. And he is the N.B.A.’s reigning goofball, a role that has endeared him to players, fans, children and reporters for nearly two decades.

O’Neal is unique, however there have been many other dominant players in the history, however there have been many player comedians in the union.  O’Neal is the only all-star who can light up every arenas whether or not he has the ball.

Nobody will be ever as the big guy, on and off the court, he is the best. O’Neal has already been the symbol of NBA. No one can replace him, ever.

Ruling Halts Amputee Sprinter’s Olympic Bid

  Oscar Pistorius, 21, was born without fibulas and had both legs amputated below the knee when he was 11 months old. But now, he is a very famous sprinter and this time he want to participate in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games to compete against the able-bodied sprinters.

  However,he is ineligible to pursue his dream of qualifying for the Olympics, according to a ruling Monday by track and field’s world governing body. The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) said that, after a independent investigation and scientific research they have found that his carbon-fibre Cheetah Flex-Foot prosthetics gave him a unfair advantage, which means Pistorius is able to run at the same speed as able-bodied sprinters with about “25 percent less energy expenditure.” According to this conclusion, IAAF banned him from taking part in the Olympics.

Tremendous Preparations for Big Waves

Big-wave surfers, a small community composed of men and women who often become amateur oceanographers and experts in wave dynamics in order to ride waves that can be more than 50 feet high.

On Saturday(January 12,2008) this community of surfers will gather together for the Super Bowl of big-wave surfing:the Mavericks Surf Contest. In the contest the surfers not only against each other, but also against some of the most treacherous surfing conditions in the world.

Big-wave surfing is very dangerous, the underwater rock fomation can result in towering walls of water,which can deliver the most serious punishment to the surfers if they wipe out. So many people died in it, as a result big-wave surfers must do more than wax their boards and wait for waves.

They study weather patterns, listen to radio broadcasts by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and do whatever else to get understand the water’s movements.

Before surfing, the community takes adavantage of the data from NASA’s satellite to scan undulations on the sea, microwaves to measure water vapor, G.P.S. to pinpoint locations, and lasers to communicate with ground stations…
