Liverpool-Arsenal: The Series - Part I

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Arsenal look ripe for the picking at the moment. Liverpool should be the favorites in the CL match.

None of them are looking particularly good. I honestly think Arsenal will snatch the odd goal !!
Good writing buddy !

As Arsenal knocked Liverpool out of 2 cups last season scoring 11 goals (i think?) winning this trilogy is very much a possibility. If we beat Liverpool at The Grove in the first leg, then it gives us a huge mental advantage for the next two games

these 3 games will b perfect for the tactical nous that both managers have in there closets.does wenger(who i personally think has been the cleverest manager in the league for a long time) go out and attack liverpool in the 1st leg,but in saying that liverpool r good on the counter.or will he be cagy and play a system were he can keep it tightlike he did against milan, and keep it stalemate and play counter attack at liverpool and then go for the away goal at anfield? benitez knows how to cope in massive 2 leg affairs in europe.so far the prem league is still not quite got to grips with but that will come in time, but he will allow arsnal to have all the play at the emirates,he wont b bothered if he comes away with a 0 0 draw, that will suit his style of play for when the 2 giants come back to anfield. in truth this contest is a 50 50 affair, there r no favourites or underdogs. there is a small matter of a irritating prem league game in the middle.i personally think arsenal will b the conquers in that game.liverpool have a small rest bite now that they won the derby game y’day and that gives them there 5 pt gap over there neighbors.arsenal do have to win to keep up with utd and chelsea at the top of the league. im looking forward to the triple encounter, bring on the giants!!

2008 NBA Draft: Cleveland Cavaliers Analysis, Pt. 1

Monday, March 31st, 2008

It’ll be interesting to see who comes out early. A guy like Hasheem Thabeet would be an intriguing prospect. The Cavs have never really had an eraser down low on defense. Z looks like a three toed sloth on defense sometimes. And Big Ben isn’t what he used to be. Andy’s got tons of intensity, but he’s not quite an eraser.

The point guard class is a little weak this year. I’d love Collison or Westbrook from the Bruins, but a big man might make more sense. Thabeet would be a GREAT pick if he dropped to us. If not I could deal with Hibbert. Check out NBADraft.net. It has us picking Darrell Arthur. Your thoughts on this?

I’m not sure what to think about NBADraft.net. You have to figure that they’d have Psycho T somewhere. He’s nowhere to be found in that mock draft, though. They’ve also got Robin Lopez and Marreese Speights going at 20 and 21 ahead of Roy Hibbert at 23. Although I’m not a big Hibbert fan, I’d take Big Roy over Robin and Marreese.

I like Arthur but I’m not sure he’s needed. It’d be nice to have a 5 instead of a 4. Andy is already a solid back up to Ben Wallace at the 4. There really is no solid back up to Z in the middle.

Hibbert is one of few true centers in the draft.

And you’re right, Thabeet would be an awesome pick.

New York Rangers’ Jaromir Jagr to Play Russian Roulette?

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Jagr needs to start thinking about this season, otherwise the Rangers have no chance at making a deep playoff run. While his on ice performance is far below his standards this year, they can’t afford anymore distractions, especially since they are still dangerously close to falling out of the playoff picture. Like it or not, he’s the captain right now and he needs to start acting like it.

There is a REFFING Problem

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

The NFL has such extreme uses for technology to judge a game that it can really take the heat out of competition… I would like a balance in some fashion we don’t need a lot just something more.

Football moves so fast I do feel the ref’s need help an extra set of eyes that help him in making a judgement what that is can be for another article or at least time for me to make my mind up haha…

I think there is an embarrasment now from the players union and the premier league about how players act when a ref acts on the laws of the game compared to when the same thing happens in other sports for example rugby…

It seems change is a comin’ though, why it has taken so long is unthinkable but I do feel in a number of
years it will be socially looked down upon with greater severity when a player abuses a ref in football.

NCAA Hoops: What’s YOUR Favorite March Madness Moment?

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

The year 2006-2007 early fall the Buckeyes could are the team to beat in football. But wait there is this guy named Gregg Oden playing B-Ball and he is a phenomenon… Could this be the year they can take football and basketball in the same year?

They make ti to the national title in football game… and get their buts kicked to Florida (No. 2 Florida 41, No. 1 Ohio St. 14).

Well a good run at it and least there is Oden and Mike Conely Jr. and a #1 ranked basketball program and they can loose a national title to the same team in Basketball as they did in football….
Sure enough Florida takes the basketball National Title in the same year. (1) Ohio State 75, (1) Florida 84

Disbelief and Depression set in, just to loose another title game in football in 2007……
Bitter sweet at least we made it to the dance….. too bad there was no champaign.
