This article is about the drug use in baseball field. The personal trainer of Barry Bond in San Francisco Giants, Greg Anderson, has been proved to give drug to the athletes. The manager Brian Sabean ignored or even protected Anderson when he knew this fact. Selig said the Balco scandal could have been avoided if everyone acted against drug user. When I first read this news, I was shocked, not because another drug distribution has been found again but because the trainer urged the athletes to do that. I thought they knew exactly the negative effect to athletes; what’s more, they have been an athlete before. In all the sports area, either in or abroad, drug use is an inevitable problem. In order to win, they try every method, ignoring the morality and health. I have heard from one of my friend who is learning track and field in BSU that when she was in the professional team, to use drug is known to all. Everyone knew when the important competitions come near, the athletes usually take drug. The negative effects have already been seen on some female athletes. I feel sad for the athletes and the sports filed. To stop using drug is not a question at all and there is no doubt that we should try our best to prevent it.

This is not the latest news. In fact the story happened almost a year ago. But it is moving, exciting and great. ShenXu and Zhao Hongbo won the 2007 World Figure Skating Championships in Japan. At the end of the performance, Zhao kneeled on one knee and kissed Shen. After the competition they announced this was their last performance (it is said they will come back and take part in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, although it is not sure) and disclosed their affection. Zhao said the last movement was the proposal to Shen. How romantic it is!
Shen and Zhao are two famous figure skating athletes in China and the world. They are the first pair from China to become the world Champions. Since 1992, they began to skate as pair. They are known for their huge throw jumps and twists as well as consistency in the technical area. Their achievements are glorious. Although in 2005, they missed the World Championship due to Zhao’s achilles tendon injury, they managed to come back in 2006 Winter Olympic Games and won the bronze.
Following Shen and Zhao, many new pairs of skaters appeared, and they also gained wonderful result in world competitions. But in my opinion, Shen and Zhao’s importance in Chinese skating history is unsubstitutive. They are the ancestors of Chinese figure skating atheletes.
