How important is health?

I’ve been sick for the past few months, nothing too serious (I hope!) but the doctors don’t know how to help me. Or maybe they do know how to help me but they don’t know how to tell me in English! This morning I read the quote below and I wonder if it’s true. I probably wouldn’t have accepted it when I was feeling well, but now… It makes sense to me! Think about it - even if you have all the learning in the world, what value is it if you feel sick all the time?  Anyway, here’s the quote:

“Health is worth more than learning.”

(Language note: “worth more” means that it is better, that it has more value.)

    Teacher Joe!
    You been sick for the past few months, It doesn’t meant ” nothing too serious”.You better to see a doctor with a student who can translate the Chinese to English for you, Health is the most important than anything else not to mention learning; when you feel sick. you don’t have the energy and you don’t have the mood to learn anything. So. I agree” Health is worth more than learning.” when well I try not to get sick by eating enough fresh foods am not get sick even a cold the past eight years, you so important to all your students including me, take a good care will you?

    Mei Chin, you are right, I must eat more healthy foods. Being so busy, I often find myself grabbing something easy - and tasty - like curry rice or fried chicken. Please tell me what you eat in more detail - do you only eat fruits and vegetables? You must eat some other foods, don’t you?

    I have been to the hospital several times and had many expensive tests. It seems to be nothing serious, although I don’t know what I should do, except to eat better! So, I’m looking forward to your specific suggestions!

    Teacher Joe!
    Every morning I drinking almost 1000cc’s fresh juice.(vegetables with fruits) it have 7~8 kinds of them.there are green pepper.apple.carrot.celery.cucumber.bitter squash.ginger.pineapple and tomato etc.I use two kinds of blender.one with fiber another don’t, you just take the apple. pineapple and tomato’s fiber with the juice without fibers’,It sounds difficult to do but actully it isn’t.every kind of them you can only take small part;one-four portion apple for example. the most important is not add any water.pure is the best. you can choose 4~5 kinds of them whenever you do .ginger is the must one. you just shopping once a week.and get up early half an hour.without three months.you will younger.healthier than now.believe or not,..wish you take care.without health without dignity, I’ll be very like to share if you need…sincerely mei chin…

    That sounds interesting… I have a juice machine but a cheap one. It takes more than half an hour just to clean it and the mess that it makes when juice flies all around my kitchen! I should definitely eat more fresh foods, though…

    So, what do you eat for lunch and dinner?

    Teacher Joe.
    Since I live along.(with a pet cat ten years old still very health). we adults needed calcium to protect our bone. so I always boil pork with tomato and add some vegetables that you like.or fish with rice or noodles, just use a pot you have soup and have a solid meal,nutritionist suggestion that male should eat nine kinds and female need seven kinds of colorful vegetables every day, ( including meat fish ).if possible you should eat some citrus fruit, because vegetables seldom have the nutrition that citrus has.you can made lunch and dinner at once.this kind of foods almost no oil. it is very healthy also delicious. Of course you can eat another food that you like. but what I tell you is the more important. this is my past eight years experience…..

    Well, is very important to excersise so you feel in your best shape. That gives you endorfines, helps you enjoy life and releases stress, that at the end makes us feel healthier…..

    Sa’di, one of the most famous Iranian poets , lived about (c1213-1292), has said: there are four impotrant things in our life that we do not know the value of them. When we know , it is too late ; Being healthy before being sick, being young before being old and ….
    Unfortunately, I forgot two others .But, this sentence refers that we know the value of being healthy after suffering an illness .So, we have to know how much it is significant in our life.
